Uganda – Day 7
What a surprise …. up at the crack of dawn for an early breakfast and once again checking out. We really enjoyed Enjojo, could have easily stayed there another night, but time to move on ….. closer and closer to our goal for the whole trip ….. the gorillas!
We started the day with another game drive through the Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. After that we started the drive towards the volcanic hills on the border of Congo and Rwanda, being the home of the mountain gorillas.
We passed some amazing scenery on the way, stopping for packed lunch on the side of a scary mountain pass.
Mid afternoon we made it to our new lodge which would be home for the next couple of nights being the Mutanda Lake Resort.
I remember one of the many agents we wrote to originally say that they thought Lake Mutanda was much nicer than the more well known Lake Bunyonyi, so we looked it up and decided …… we should stay at both just in case!
And boy this place was amazing. Located down a veeery steep hill down to the edge of a lake, surrounded by three volcanoes. It was a fantastic place to stay.
After a couple of drinks by the water’s edge we ate at the restaurant which looked out over the lake and took an early night for the big day tomorrow!
